ELearn research question for Workshop 2 - Studio
Not so much research for week 3 but revision of week 2.
These
questions relate to the use of studio flash equipment. Note that some copies of the Pulso
instruction sheet handed out in class may have Pulso 4 written where Pulso 2
should be, just change it, we have no Pulso 4 units.
1. What is the
Guide Aperture (GA) of both the Pulso and Primo units?
at 2m with ISO 100 f64 or a guide number of 128
at 2m with ISO 100 f64 or a guide number of 128
2. Let’s assume
you had a flash unit with a GA of f64.
With a subject placed 4m from the flash head the f-number to use to
achieve correct exposure would be;
[a] f8
[b] f22
[c] f32
[d] f64
3. Using the
same flash unit as in question 2 above and a subject placed 16m from the flash
head the f-number to use to achieve correct exposure would be;
[a] f8
[b] f22
[c] f32
[d] f64
4. Changing the
Pulso 2 power setting from 10 to 9;
[a] halves the output
[b] reduces the output
by 50%
[c] reduces the output
by ‘1-stop’ (photo lingo)
[d] would require the
use of a lens aperture 1 stop wider to achieve the same exposure
[e] I think all of the
above
[f] all of the above and I’m not guessing
5. Describe what
you understand by the term Symmetrical Power Distribution.
Symmetrical
power distribution means that when more than one flash head is plugged in the
power is distributed symmetrically or evenly
